Youth at Taizé gather for evening prayer.

Churches, dioceses, schools, seminaries, and community organizations are now invited to host group screenings of Taizé: A Pilgrimage of Trust, a feature documentary exploring the ecumenical Christian community of Taizé and its enduring witness of prayer, reconciliation, and unity.

The film follows nine teenagers from Massachusetts as they journey to the small village of Taizé in Burgundy, France, where thousands of young adults from around the world gather each year for prayer, song, silence, and fellowship. Through their experiences, Taizé: A Pilgrimage of Trust offers a timely reflection on the search for community and hope in an increasingly divided world.

Produced and directed by Atlanta filmmaker Kathy Kuczka, the documentary recently completed a successful run on ABC affiliate stations nationwide through the Interfaith Broadcasting Commission and is continuing its outreach through conferences, festivals, and community screenings.

Founded during World War II by Brother Roger Schutz, Taizé has long held a special place within the Episcopal Church and the broader ecumenical movement. Its distinctive style of worship—marked by contemplative prayer, simple chants, and hospitality to people of all traditions—has shaped the spiritual lives of generations of Episcopalians and other Christians around the world.

“Taizé offers a powerful witness that people from different backgrounds, cultures, and Christian traditions can come together in prayer and mutual understanding,” said Kuczka. “At a time of increasing division, I hope this film encourages communities to rediscover the values of listening, simplicity, and trust.”

The documentary is now available for in-person and group screenings in parishes, dioceses, schools, universities, retreat centers, and other community settings. Organizers interested in hosting a screening or learning more about the film are encouraged to contact the filmmakers for additional information and promotional materials.
