ChurchNext launches new course to help churches understand and use artificial intelligence wisely
Artificial intelligence is changing how people work, communicate, create, and learn – and churches are asking what that means for ministry.
To help answer those questions, ChurchNext has released AI for Churches, a new four-session online course taught by the Rev. Phil Dinwiddie.
Designed for beginners as well as those who have already experimented with AI tools, the course offers a practical introduction to the technology behind today’s most popular AI platforms while encouraging thoughtful reflection about their opportunities and limitations.
Participants will learn:
- what artificial intelligence is and how it works
- how large language models generate responses
- practical strategies for using AI effectively
- key ethical questions surrounding the future of AI
Rather than focusing only on technology, the course invites learners to think about how Christians can engage AI with wisdom, discernment, and a commitment to human dignity. Along the way, participants gain practical skills they can apply in ministry, education, administration, communication, and everyday life.
