The University of the South, familiarly known as Sewanee, invites all General Convention attendees to visit exhibit 810. Centrally located, the exhibit includes large-format photography and video to help visitors experience Sewanee’s extraordinary people and places firsthand. Also available at the exhibit are brochures on a range of programs and giveaways that are thoughtful, fun, and practical.

Visitors to the exhibit have the opportunity to meet a large rotating delegation of faculty, staff, and leaders from the University of the South, representing a wide range of disciplines and programs at the University. The Sewanee team welcomes questions and looks forward to meeting as many General Convention attendees as possible.

“While the best way to get to know Sewanee is to come to campus, our General Convention exhibit definitely expresses the spirit of this very special place,” said the Rev. Casey Perkins Director of Alumni, Development, and Church Relations at the School of Theology. “With photography and videos, which can be accessed using a QR code, the exhibit provides visitors the chance to experience Sewanee.”

Programmatic highlights at the exhibit include Education for Ministry (EfM), the School of Theology’s flagship program for lay education, SUMMA theological debate camp for high-school students, and representatives from the Advanced Degree Program for clergy considering a doctorate of ministry or certificate of advanced study.

For those considering a degree program at residential seminary, the leadership team from the School of Theology will be available for informal discussions or scheduled appointments. Attending will be Walker Adams,T’18, director of recruitment and admissions, the Very Rev. James F. Turrell, dean of the School of Theology, Dr. Hannah Matis, associate dean of academic affairs, and the Rev. Dr. Deborah Jackson, T’07, associate dean for community life. Contact information for all University of the South representatives can be found here.

We look forward to hearing from you!
