The Order of the Ascension is beginning the Saint Scholastica cycle of its on-line training program, for clergy and lay parish leaders, on parish development. The training staff will include: Sister Michelle Heyne, OA Presiding Sister, Brother Robert Gallagher, OA, Sister Susan Latimer, OA, Brother Poulson Reed, OA, Bishop of Oklahoma, and Brother Scott Benhase, retired Bishop of Georgia. The program focuses on forming parish churches characterized by prayer and service, adoration and awe. Making use of the best methods of parish development and applied theology.

The first year, the Saint Benedict Cycle, has involved 25 participants coming from parishes in states ranging from Florida to Washington as well as parishes in Dubai, UAE and Tbilisi, Georgia. That group will continue into this next cycle as it completes the two year program.

Shaping the Parish begins its second cycle on September 20, 2024. The program is entirely online involving 60 hours of workshop time, back home work on assignments, and a considerable course of reading. The fee for individuals is $100.00. Parish teams of up to six people may register for $300.  Participants must also purchase their own books.
