Order of Saint Francis celebrates leadership transition and welcomes new bishop visitor
On July 1, 2025, Brother Les Roberts was officially installed as the Minister General of the Order of Saint Francis during a solemn investiture service held at the historic DeKoven Center in Racine, Wisconsin. Brother Les was elected to this role during the Order’s 2024 Convocation, marking a new chapter in the Order’s mission of Gospel-centered service and Franciscan witness.
The investiture was led by outgoing Minister General Zane Young and featured the Celebration of the Holy Eucharist, presided over by the Rt. Rev. Jos Tharakan, XIV Bishop of Idaho. Bishop Tharakan was also formally welcomed as the Order’s new Bishop Visitor, offering spiritual guidance and episcopal support to the community.
In addition to the installation of Brother Les, the Order announced the appointment of Brother Billy Isenor as Guardian of the Canadian Province, affirming its commitment to regional leadership and cross-border collaboration.
The Order of Saint Francis embodies a contemporary expression of the Franciscan tradition within the Anglican Communion. Members live and serve in diverse communities across the United States, Canada, and Italy, following in the footsteps of Saint Francis of Assisi through lives of simplicity, compassion, and justice.
