Funded Online Leadership Training Opportunity for Ministry Innovators in Province IV Congregations

The Society for the Increase of the Ministry
Posted May 13, 2024

Registration is open through May 20 for a new online leadership training opportunity hosted by the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta in partnership with The Society for the Increase of the Ministry (SIM) and funded by Trinity Church Wall Street.

Kindle Holy Change is a resource designed for lay and ordained leaders, that is conveniently accessed online. It is engaged at one’s own pace over the course of three months with an investment on the part of trainees of 2-3 hours per week. This approach promises to be thought-provoking and creative, utilizing an interactive workbook, recorded instructional videos, live virtual practice, coaching conversations, and peer to peer engagement.

At the conclusion of the course participants are substantially resourced and empowered to lead team-based, lay-led/clergy-supported ministry. Those who are interested in joining the next online cohort beginning May 20th, are invited to learn more and register at www.kindleholychange.church

The course is an opportunity for rectors navigating change to identify, support and develop teams of lay leaders in time- and cost-effective ways. Specifically, leaders will build their capacities for deep discernment, relationship-building, holy listening, letting go, prophetic imagining, adaptation, and ministry design. With this framework of practice lay and ordained leaders are empowered together to develop the shared wisdom, vision and courage required of those entrusted by God with the faithful reimagining of church.

Late in 2022, the Diocese of Atlanta and SIM hosted in-person training in the practices in Atlanta for several dioceses in Province IV. Now the training is virtual and can be engaged wherever church leaders in Province IV are geographically located.
