The Church Pension Group (CPG), a financial services organization that serves The Episcopal Church, released its 2025 Episcopal Clergy Compensation Reports. Available as both an interactive online report (cpg.org/clergy-compensation-report) and downloadable PDFs, they provide a comprehensive view of the compensation and demographic profiles of non-retired Episcopal clergy (bishops, priests, and deacons) whose reported annual compensation exceeds $3,000.

The report offers insights into compensation levels, employment patterns, and clergy demographics, helping dioceses, congregations, and church leaders better understand trends shaping the Episcopal workforce.

Key findings include:

  • Median compensation for clergy (bishops, priests, and deacons) was approximately $91,800 in 2025, a 2.6% increase since 2024.
  • The number of employed, compensated clergy (bishops, priests, and deacons) was 4,864 in 2025, which changed little from 4,866 in 2024.
