Job Description
Overall responsibility for the management and processing of accounting transactions and ledgers, including but not limited to general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed asset, payroll and employee benefits, and loan administration.

  • Ensure all deposits, accounts receivable, accounts payable are accurately entered and maintained in the financial management system, ShelbyNext
  • Complete analysis of general ledger and all financial statements
  • Generate and distribute monthly financial statements
  • Perform monthly close procedures including reconciliations, work paper preparation and variance analysis
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Assist with annual audit and reporting requirements
  • Prepare accounting reports for diocesan and other staff
  • Perform loan administration for the Diocesan Development Fund
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts
  • Record investment activity
  • Process monthly assessment reports, reconcile outstanding issues, respond to parish assessment statement questions, prepare quarterly statements
  • Work directly with staff of various diocesan committee members
  • Ability to write clearly and effectively
  • Perform other tasks as necessary
