|“The feeding ministry has outgrown the building!”
Even global pandemic has not slowed down the faithful Christian parishioners of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Athens, Tennessee. Their commitment to reducing food insecurity and addressing human suffering in many forms in McMinn County Tennessee is as strong as ever. In the past month, they have received local and governmental support and distributed as much food as they did in all of 2017 when this particular ministry was nascent. Their commitment to caring for their community and thriving throughout a challenging time is rooted in a deep spirituality that continues to be nurtured in their weekly study and worship, now transitioned online.
Their search committee observes:
This remarkably thriving “small town” parish is looking for a rector to collaborate with them in developing structural support for their booming ministries, deepening their faith, and growing to meet the needs of the future in their community. The people of St. Paul’s Church seek a creative, enthusiastic, compassionate rector to partner with them in continuing the tradition of lived liturgy in the Athens area.
Applicants must be an ordained priest in the Episcopal church with demonstrated service in leadership of mission-oriented christian community.
