Job Description
Saint Mark’s Church, founded by US residents of Guadalajara, was founded in 1943 and is one of the oldest parishes of the Anglican church in Mexco.  We serve an international congregation of many nationalities who have come to Guadalajara from all over the world, in addition to Mexican and US congregants. We are looking for a rector who speaks English (Spanish is a plus but not necessary), and who is up for the challenge of reaching out to the many thousands of foreigners living in one of the largest and most cosmopolitan cities in Mexico.  Guadalajara is less than two hours by air to the United States, with a year-round temperate climate, low cost of living, and excellent transportation, medical, cultural, and educational facilities. Walmart, Costco, and many other familiar brands are here, The ideal candidate would be someone ready to or recently retired,  who has a strong track record in preaching, community outreach, pastoral care, and administration. We are a small but growing diverse, open and affirming congregation with a beautiful church, fellowship hall. and garden, close to the soon-to-be-open new US consulate. We are financially stable and prepared for further growth. Although we cannot offer remuneration competitive with  US  rates, we can offer a competitive housing allowance and the cost of living here, as previously stated is much less than in the US. This is an opportunity for an adventurous and energetic person who is looking for a new challenge.
