Job Description
Job Summary: As a key member of the Office of the Bishop Staff, the Missioner for Communications is responsible for shaping Diocesan communications strategy and tactics. Working closely with the Bishop and the Office of the Bishop staff, this position is also accountable for providing resources to congregations to build and strengthen their communication tools and strategy.

Areas of responsibility include:

Managing Diocesan website; E-newsletters to Diocese and clergy; marketing campaigns; communications for Diocesan events; social media strategy and execution; consulting with congregations re websites; working collaboratively with Disaster Resilience officer on crisis communications; develop and manage communications budget; serve as news manager on behalf of Bishop and Diocese; manage branding and style for all communications deliverables; attend regular meetings at the Office of the Bishop (Sacramento, CA); participate actively in Episcopal Communicators peer group.

Knowledge and Skills include:

Minimum 3-5 years proven communications/journalism experience in print and/or digital media; bilingual(Spanish/English) strongly preferred. Must have: strong skills in WordPress, Constant Contact, Zoom, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office Suite, written and oral communication, team orientation, ability to work some evenings and weekends. Must have or obtain valid CA drivers license, access to transportation, and insurance coverage at mandated level.
