 Lightline Pilgrimages is delighted to offer a pilgrimage to South Africa, designed to introduce Episcopalians to the poignant history of this beautiful country, and to engage with our sister and brother Anglicans as we travel. The pilgrimage will be a two-center trip, based in Cape Town and then Johannesburg. Visits and encounters will include time in Soweto, the Desmond Tutu Foundation, Robben Island, worship at St George’s Cathedral, time with local clergy and lay leaders. In addition we will explore Table Mountain, District Six, Constitution Hill and the Apartheid Museum. Those who wish will be able to extend their time in the country to include a safari and/or visits to the wine country and the Garden Route.
The pilgrimage will be led by the Dean of York Minster, the Very Revd Dominic Barrington, who has extensive connections with local clergy in the places being visited. |
